About

Drawing inspiration from the joys of my childhood, from books like Goosebumps and Animorphs, to Polly Pocket and butterfly clips, Internet 1.0 and Tamagotchi, Bo Barra is about recapturing childlike wonder, and finding light in the darkness.

Each piece is handmade using rare vintage glass beads mainly from 1940s-1950s occupied Japan. The beads were handcrafted for export to the USA by glassmakers who were rice farmers by day and glass artisans by night.

Using these coveted beads I love to transform the weird and wacky imagery of the 90s into things of beauty and whimsy.

I hope you treasure them and appreciate their one-of-a-kind beauty. Their like will never be seen again.

XOXO
